Sailors Battle at the First Day of ASAF Sailing Cup and Enoshima Olympic Week 2017

ASAF Sailing Cup and Enoshima Olympic Week 2017 has attracted 353 entrants representing 38 nations for nine of the ten Olympic sailing events and the 420 Class. Competitors are eager to train and compete at the sailing venue which will also be used for the Tokyo 2020 Games in Fujisawa, Japan and in the coming years, we will see a much larger participation.

Welcoming the sailors, coaches, officials and support personnel, Dr Malav Shroff complimented the organisors of the event and the Japanese Sailing Federation for putting in place all the arrangments, especially just four days after the Sailing World Cup Series at Gamagori and the disruptions caused by the Typhoon. Concluding his address at the grand Opening Ceremony, he wished all the competitors fair winds and following seas.

Racing started today with gentle easterly wind greeting the sailors. Three scheduled races for each class were completed and the results can be found HERE
