Asian Games Final Day Report

Asian Games Final Day Report

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

3 October 2026

The Wind Gods Saved Their Final Smile for the Asian Games

At first glance, it appeared that the wind would fade away, and AP flags were flown, raising concerns that racing might not be possible on the final day. However, a persistent light breeze continued to flow across the course area, providing just enough wind for racing to proceed.

Highlights·

Amid celebrations and heartbreak, the Asian Games sailing competition concluded with all 14 events successfully completed.

As the breeze filled in on the final day, close battles unfolded across the fleet, with the Youth Boys’ and Girls’ Dinghy classes producing some of the most exciting racing of the regatta. The conditions were marginal for wind-surfing, and only 1 race was sailed with Boy’s and Girl’s classes.  No races were sailed for Men’s and Women’s  Wind Surfing.

Thanks to careful race management and the patience of competitors, all classes were able to complete their scheduled races, bringing the regatta to a successful conclusion and allowing the final medals to be decided on the water.
