ASIAN SAILING FEDERATION AGM CONCLUDES AT ABU DHABI

The Asian Sailing Federation conducted its AGM on 30th October’22 at Abu Dhabi.

The meeting was held in Hybrid mode with attendees present in person as well as virtually.

Dr. Malav Shroff President Asian Sailing Federation chaired the meeting which also had the presence of Mr. Quanhai Li – World Sailing President and Ms. Zhang Xiaodong – President of Honour ASAF who presided over the gathering.

President ASAF in his address said that he was delighted to meet up with some members in person for the AGM after a two year gap due to the pandemic.

He highlighted the championships that had taken place over the last year and those that will be taking place in the coming year especially the Asian Games in Hangzhou

Commenting on the work done by the various ASAF Committees President ASAF mentioned that the  Committees have been meeting up and planning activities to expand the outreach of Sailing in the Continent be it Youth & Development, Women , Para Sailing etc.

He also thanked ASAF partners RS Sailing and Element 6 for their support in ensuring a healthy balance sheet for ASAF.

He ended with a message to aim at consolidating together with the support of the MNAs the position of Asia on the World Sailing arena.

President ASAF presented the schedule of the Asian Olympic Qualifiers as follows

The first qualifier is scheduled to be held during the Asian Games in Hangzhou from 23rd September to 8th October’23 and the second qualifier is scheduled to be held at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club, Thailand from 10th to 20th December 2023.

The breakup of the events is as follows

 First Qualifier

Second Qualifier

      Royal Varuna Yacht Club (Thailand)
