Diversity Reigns As Wind Blows For Day Three

Finally the wind blew in Abu Dhabi on day three of the ASAF Youth Sailing Cup Finals, leading to some major changes at the top of the leaderboard.

A south south-westerly breeze of 10-16 knots provided ideal conditions instead of two days of very light and shifty breeze. The Race Committee took full advantage, with nine races being completed across most of the classes and consequently some major changes at the top of the leaderboards.

Asri Azman of Malaysia who last year competed at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, Nanjing continues with his fantastic run now in the Laser Radial.

"It was much windier today than the forecast called for," Azman said, "but the racecourse is fine. The race officials are doing a good job with some challenging circumstances.

He wasn't the only one who said so.

Thursday was the third of five days of racing in the ASAF Youth Sailing Cup Finals.

Top qualifiers will sail a Medal Race on Saturday.
