The Hong Kong Sailing Federation, in conjunction with co-organiser Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, today announced the hosting of the Sportsboat Asia Pacs 2019 from 18 to 22 November.

To be sailed out of Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s Middle Island clubhouse, the event anticipates hosting 40 of the top sportsboats from around the Asia Pacific region with competitors joining from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Competing on Hong Kong’s renowned world class race tracks, host Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club expects to see a competitive line up to match the recent successes of the 29er World Championship 2018, the Optimist Asian and Oceanian Championship 2017, Etchells World Championship 2015 and Hong Kong’s largest annual regatta, Hong Kong Race Week.

Offering top international level sailing combined with a fantastic social atmosphere, the Sportsboat Asia Pacs 2019 will introduce new strength to the Asia Pacific regatta scene, making this the #1 regatta of choice for Sportsboats in the region

Race Chairman Russ Parker put out the challenge to all Sportsboat sailors to step up for the Sportsboat Asia Pacs crown saying “with average winds of around 15 to 20kts and sailing in sunshine, Hong Kong will be serving up the best racing conditions of the year. The week will kick off with the iconic annual Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club Regatta Ball – one of Hong Kong’s finest celebrations, followed by a week of highly competitive racing.”
