Opening Ceremony Asian Sailing Championships and Asian Continental Olympic Qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
The Opening Ceremony of the Asian Sailing Championships and Asian Continental Olympic Qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games got off to a great start with a glittering opening ceremony at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club in Pattaya Thailand.
The chief guest for the event was Admiral Adoong Paniam , Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Navy and was accompanied by Admiral Somprasong Nilsamai , President YRAT , Dr. Malav Shroff President ASAF, Mr Quanhai Li – President World Sailing, Ms. Zhang Xiaodong – President of Honor ASAF
A standout video showcased the wonderful sights of Thailand and Pattaya and the preparations that were undertaken in a run up to the event with soundbytes from the Technical Delegate Capt Abdur Rehman Arshad, Principal Race Officer David Brookes and the Technical Committee team along with the introduction of the ITOs for the event.
The Band from the Royal Thai Marine Corp was in their element as they marched in for the raising of the event flag ceremony.
The gathering was addressed by Admiral Adoong, President ASAF and President World Sailing who conveyed their best wishes for the event.
Ringing of the ceremonial bell was done to mark the official opening of the event.
