The first ever ASAF Central Asia Sailing Championship being held at Cholpon – Ata , Kyrgyzstan from today 16th to 21st May’26, got off to a spectacular start with grand opening ceremony, which was presided by President – Asian Sailing Federation Dr. Malav Shroff and attended by Mr. Asanbaev Urmat, Director of the State Agency on physical culture and sport of the Kyrgyz Republic , Mr. Kanat Mamakeev, President of the Sailing Federation of Kyrgyzstan and dignitaries from the other Sailing Federations.
President ASAF in his address, thanked the Sports Minister and President of Kyrgyzstan Sailing for the warm reception and also thanked the Organisers, Volunteers and parents of the participants for encouraging and supporting their children to take part in this event.

The inaugural ASAF Central Asian Sailing Championship, is being held for the first time in the history of Kyrgyzstan, on the picturesque the Issyk-Kul coast and is being organized by the Sailing Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the support of the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF) and the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Participants from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are participating in this event and will be vying for top honours in the following classes Optimist, ILCA-4, ILCA-6, ILCA-7 and Fareast-23.
